Are you happy with who, what, or where you are today? Are you having fun? Are you enjoying your career? Are you excited about your future? Are you living your life to the fullest? If the answer is no, then I ask "Why not?"
Most of us are searching for something, or sometime in the future when we will finally be happy. We tell ourselves that if we can only get to "that place," then our lives will be perfect. What we miss when we go through life with this perspective is the joy of today, and all the wonderful things that it brings.
So what will it take for you to be happy? Will it be the bigger house, the new car, getting married, getting divorced, becoming pregnant, getting a new job, moving to a new home, etc.? When will you stop running and enjoy what you have today? The search for happiness is internal and impossible to obtain from outside things. Sure, they may make you smile initially, but the emptiness will not go away.
So, how can you be happy today? Follow these easy steps:
1. Accept That You Deserve To Be Happy.
If you don't think that you deserve to be happy, then no wonder you're not. The messages you give yourself determine what direction your life will take. If you are telling yourself that you are unworthy or don't deserve happiness, then how can you expect to be happy?
2. Accept Who You Are.
Being happy today is accepting who you are; the good, the bad and the ugly. It's knowing that you are doing the best you can do, and being content with that. I'm not saying to ignore what you'd like to improve in your life, but if you only see what's missing, you lose out on "loving" what's great about you.
3. Be Comfortable Where You Are.
Being happy today means being comfortable where you are in the present, not where you would like to be in the future. It's about being in awe for the opportunity to learn something new each day. You don't know what your life will bring tomorrow, so you might as well enjoy where you are today.
4. Appreciate Your Life.
Being happy today means being grateful for your life. Whether it's being grateful for having your health, a job, a place to live, food everyday, or a family that loves you. If you knew that you were going to die in 90 days, would you do things differently? Guess what? You are going to die one day, and you don't know if you even have 90 days. Gratitude, not blame will give you happiness and freedom.
5. Ask For Help.
Being happy means not keeping your problems to yourself. It also means that you ask for support when you need it, and let others contribute to your life. Most of us don't ask for help because we don't want to burden the people around us. But, if someone asked you for assistance, wouldn't you lend a helping hand? Then why wouldn't you let others do the same for you?
6. Do Something Nice For Someone Else.
Being happy today is doing something nice for someone else. This could be as simple as holding the door for the person behind you, or as big as volunteering your time to your favorite charity. Your problems become smaller when you are not always thinking about them. When you take the focus off yourself, it is easier to see how great your life really is.
7. Do Something That Will Move You Forward.
Being happy is taking steps that will move you forward. Movement keeps you from feeling like a victim. When you're unhappy, formulating a plan puts you in a different place and helps change your perspective. It also put the power back in your hands!
So, what is it going to take to have you be happy today? How much more of your life do you want to live waiting for "someday" to bring you the happiness you crave? It's up to you to create your own happiness. It's up to you to create a life filled with joy rather than sorrow. Why not choose a life filled with happiness today?

How to be truly Happy, is what we all need and here follows some advice on how to find more happiness, in your life, have a good read and stay in the lead, enjoy.
Life can be so, unforgiving. There are times when life can be unfair, then I look around and discover people, who continued to live satisfying and exciting, lives. And then thoughts jump, into my mind, like bubbles from nowhere – “How did their life become so good? How come they still, can manage to have fun and be playful, despite a busy stressful, life?” Then I took a break and observed, them for awhile and I worked it out, that, they must, be happy, from within.
So, how does one become truly, happy?
Step 1 is to love yourself.
My theology professor once said, that “loving means acknowledgment.” To love yourself, means to acknowledge, that you are not a perfect being, but behind the imperfections, must be, a large amount of courage, to be capable, to find ways, on how to better your, ability, to recover, from our mistakes.
True happiness is also, connected to contentment. When you are contented with the work you do, the way you look, with your family, your friends, where you live, your car, and all the things you now have – honestly, you know the answer to the question “how to be truly, happy.”
When we discover a small start, somewhere from within, that small start will finally, lead to something else, and to something else. But if you keep questioning life, because, it has never been kind, to you, you will never be able, to find true happiness.
I believe that life is about learning, about right and wrong, trying and failing, wining and losing. These are things that happen constantly, like you inhaling and exhaling. Failure, in a person’s life, has become as common and necessary, as air. But this should not prevent us, from becoming happy.
How to be truly happy, despite, all these? Let me tell you, every time you make an effort, to better, the quality of life and your being, whether it is cleaning up your room, assisting a friend, looking after your sick dog, failing your board exams and trying again, life gives you corresponding points, for that.
Visualize life, as a huge score board, like those which are used in the NFL stadiums. Every time you take a step forward, you make scoring points. Wouldn’t it be great, to look at that score board, at the end of each game and think to yourself “Whew! I scored a point today. I’m happy, I gave it a Go.”, instead of looking at it all bewildered and say, “Geez, I didn’t even hit a score today. I wish I had the backbone, to try out. We could have won!” and then walk away.
True happiness, isn’t about driving the best Formula 1 car, nor receiving, the employee of the year award, earning the highest 13th month pay, or exceeding, the sales quota. Sometimes, the most desired after prizes, in life, doesn’t always go to the fastest, the strongest, the bravest or not even the best. So, how do you become truly happy? Everybody has their own explanation, of ‘happiness’. Happiness for a writer, may mean writing, as many, best selling books, as possible. Happiness for a basketball beginner, may mean winning, the novice of the year award. Happiness for a beggar, may mean, finding, a lot of money. Happiness for a business person, may mean success. So, really now, how do we become, honestly happy? Easy. You don’t have to possess, the best things in this world. It's about doing and creating, the best out of every single thing. When you find yourself laughing, at your own mistake and saying to your self “Well, don't worry, I’ll do better, the next time”, you take with you, a flame of healthy, will power, to maintain, that may glow, like a lighthouse. You possess an eagerness, to stand up again and try – that will make you a truly, happy person.
When you learn to accept yourself and your own defects. You passed, step 1 in the undertaking, “how to become truly happy”. For as long as you understand, how to accept others, you will also be accepted. For as long as you love and know how to love, you will receive, a lot of, love, back.
Again, fire me, that same question “how to become truly happy?”. I’ll refer you to a mate, of mine, who firmly quoted, “Many of us know, that laughter is the best cure for, life’s ups and downs. But many of us don’t know, that the best type of laughter, is laughter over self, because then you don’t just become happy, you become free.” So be as Free as a bird and fly High!
So, please, “Fill your heart, with Glee, let it Be
